An embodied, interdisciplinary approach to stone, place, and the built environment.

Stone‑Thinking® is a practice‑based architectural research methodology developed by NM Jansson Studio. Evolving since 2020, the methodology explores material, spatial, and cultural relationships with stone through situated and embodied modes of inquiry. The work is supported by an interdisciplinary team of thinkers and practitioners engaging with complex challenges in the built environment through the lens of stone—exploring questions of sustainability, problem‑solving, and problem‑finding across cultural, technical, and ecological contexts.

The methodology underpins ongoing research, consultancy, and collaborative work across heritage, material science, design, and environmental disciplines.
